Experience Anjou:
Culinary Traditions and Specialties not to be missed
Boule de fort is a traditional ball game in the Loire Valley. The ball used has its center of gravity slightly offset, which means that it never follows a rectilinear trajectory, while the terrain with raised edges, extremely “rolling”, makes it slowly zigzag.
Composed of a caramelized almond and hazelnut nougatine coated in blue chocolate, the slate quernon is square in shape and colored reminiscent of the slate that covers the houses in the city of Angers.
Le paté aux prunes is an Angevin pastry specialty. It’s a baking tradition during the summer. It is cooked in the shape of a large shortcrust pastry turnover. It is found among bakers and pastry chefs at this time of year.
